Randy Tickerhoof, Executive Director, C.A.L.M.

I became Arveda’s Buda Nurse Manager in June 2011 and was promoted to Executive Director in October 2011.
I graduated in 1998 with an Associates Degree in Nursing in Galveston County. I have 15 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities such as Mental Retardation, Autism, Down’s syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. I supervised staff and those individuals living in Group Homes, Foster Homes and Day Programs, ensuring all needs were met and in compliance with state regulations, (DADS). I worked as a Nurse, Case Manager, and Area Director in this field. I have helped many times with Special Olympics.
I have worked with Assisted Living/Alzheimer’s for 10 years. I worked for a facility in Texas City 10 years ago, Atria Senior Living and Brookdale Senior Living. I can’t imagine doing anything else other than what I do, due to the personal aspect of it and the difference I can hopefully make to people.
I moved to the Austin area (Spicewood) in March, after 40 years in the Galveston/Houston area. I am married and have two sons, ages 26 and 24.
