Jenny Castillo, Executive Director, C.A.L.M.

Jenny Castillo left a successful financial career at Apple Computer to pursue her life long desire for becoming a nurse. This passion comes from a long line of medical professionals from within her family who have instilled her devotion to provide compassionate and attentive care for individuals and their families. Her interest in helping individuals with brain injuries started while working at the University of Iowa Hospital. Through her 10 years of training and work experiences in the medical profession, she has become aware of a growing need to provide specialized care for afflictions which hinder the cognitive processes within the brain. Her decision to specialize in this area led her to return to the Austin area after finishing her nursing studies.  Mrs. Castillo worked as a medical coordinator for a brain injury and rehabilitation facility in Dripping Springs that allowed her the opportunity to work with residents and garner first hand experiences she utilizes in dealing with residents on a daily basis.

Jenny was Arveda’s Nurse Manager for two years before being promoted to Executive Director in January 2011. She is trained to be a Certified Assisted Living Manager.  As Executive Director, Jenny works to provide superior care to the residents and their families dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
